What's Here
The NRM has three separate large halls. The Station Hall and the Great Hall, which are linked by a subway, and The Works, which is attached to the Great Hall. We recommend a minimum of three hours to visit this site, although you could easily stay all day!

Lockers
Lockers are available within the museum. Cost: £1 per locker. Locker dimensions: 40cm deep, 24cm wide, 87cm tall.
Larger luggage can also be left at the Left Luggage office at York Railway Station.
Sound Guide
Our Sound Guide brings to life the magic of the railways and takes you on a journey of discovery with over 60 stories. Learn how Mallard broke the world steam record, listen to the story of the railway dogs and how third class passengers dined in luxury aboard the Midland Diner. Sound guides are available at the Museum entrances.
Eating
Relax in our licensed restaurant and café. Brief Encounter, our licensed restaurant in Station Hall, serves everything from hot meals to light snacks see sample menu. Signal Box café in the Great Hall serves a range of delicious sandwiches, wraps, cakes, pastries and freshly brewed coffee. We also have a barbecue open seasonally.
Gift Shop

Thomas Shop
