Press OfficeNew state-of-the-art conference facilities at the National Railway MuseumThe National Railway Museum (NRM), in York, is proud to unveil an extension of its highly successful conference centre as part of its new Archive and Research Centre, Search Engine.
The Morton Suite, which consists of three new state-of-the-art conference rooms opens in January 2008, complementing the existing suite of three. The Conference Centre will benefit from its own dedicated entrance and reception facilities. The new rooms, with a total capacity of 140, are equipped with the latest ergonomic furniture and technology; and will include Wi-Fi access throughout. The award-winning Centre also has a carpark that is free to delegates and its proximity to York Railway Station makes it the ideal location for those coming from far and wide. Rachel Fox, Events Manager at the National Railway Museum, said: “The Morton Suite is a welcome addition to our portfolio of event facilities here at the NRM. The Conference Centre’s key location and purpose built facilities, combined with the unique attractions of a national Museum, make it the perfect business environment for meetings, presentations and seminars.” Other new developments for 2008 are set to include the launching of ‘Valiant’, a painstakingly refurbished carriage for corporate hire. Finished externally in a nostalgic railway livery and lavishly furnished internally with period veneers, the carriage will be ideal for those wishing to experience the ambience of the ‘golden era’ of train travel. Split into two flexible open compartments, the Valiant is also well suited as a venue for that extra special meeting, reception or exhibition. 7 January 2008 |
