Visitors under 14 years old must be accompanied by an adult (over 16).

Accessibility information

Accessible parking is available outside our City Entrance (nearest the railway station). More details on our How To Get Here page.

Wheelchairs are available free of charge at both entrances and we have wheelchair accessible toilets.

Support dogs are also welcome. If you require a large print map on arrival, please ask at the admissions desk. Our audio guides are currently unavailable.

Play/picnic area

There is a picnic area in the South Yard and a railway-themed play area beside it.

Gift shops

The NRM Shop - Located inside the museum entrance.

Great Hall Shop - For exclusive souvenirs and unique products drop by our shop in the Great Hall. Located next to the café, our shop has many fantastic Mallard items and museum gifts so now you really can enjoy the experience and buy the t-shirt afterwards.


Lockers are available within the museum at a cost £3, non refundable, for your visit while in the museum

Locker dimensions are 45cm wide x 45cm deep x 58cm tall.  Please note these lockers only take one £2 coin and one £1 coin, although our City Entrance reception nearby will be happy to provide change.

We also have larger lockers that are 95cm deep, 45cm wide and 100cm tall, ideal for suitcases. These are available at a cost of £4, requiring two £2 coins (non refundable).
