Mike Kenny's adaptation of E. Nesbit's well loved novel and Damien Cruden's direction tells a fantastic story which comes to life using a unique theatre setting that allows the audience to sit on station platforms either side of a real rail track.

Featuring the steam locomotive which was in the original film of The Railway Children this production will make you laugh, cry, sigh, gasp and your heart ache in one of the most breath taking theatrical events York has ever seen. Performances will take place in the Signal Box Theatre - our new purpose built auditorium.

"An enchanting steam- powered family show - spirited, inventive and magical" (TIME OUT)

"A glorious adaptation of E. Nesbit's children's classic" (GUARDIAN)

"There were shrieks of excitement from the stalls and the watching children were round-eyed in amazement." (INDEPENDENT)

"The show's great coup is the glorious arrival of a splendid, fully operational Victorian steam engine." (DAILY TELEGRAPH)
