The London & North Eastern Railway's Coronation train ran regularly between London King's Cross and Edinburgh. It left King's Cross at 4.00 pm and arrived in Edinburgh at 10.00pm. The luxury train's distinctive features included an observation saloon with contemporary streamlined styling. Its name commemorated the coronation of King George VI.
