London & North Eastern Railway (LNER) steam locomotive 4-6-2 No 4472 Flying Scotsman, built in 1923, having the crown stays burnt off during its 2004-2005 programme of maintenance in the NRM workshops. This programme of maintenance was carried out prior to the locomotive operating season of 2005.
