A wash drawing taken from a collection of views showing the construction of the London & Birmingham Railway.
This picture shows the tunnel running under Hampstead Road and Granby Street in London. The tunnel was constructed using two archways separated by 52 brick and stone piers which supported the iron girders forming the arches.
