China 08 at the National Railway Museum
Join us to celebrate Chinese culture throughout 2008! To mark the Beijing Olympic Games, we have joined up with other attractions in York, Yorkshire and the UK to celebrate Chinese culture with a wealth of special events and exhibitions.
Mums and Dads can give their children a taste of the Far East this summer by taking part in the National Railway Museum’s free of charge China 08 activities From 25th to 29th August, kids can explore the amazing world of magnets in Magnet Mania as part of the daily workshop. Those with more creative interests can try their hand at Chinese Calligraphy in one of the NRM’s all day events running from the 18th to 22nd August.
Don’t miss the fascinating exhibition of photographs by renowned railway photographer Michael Rhodes, charting the last days of Chinese steam – open now until 31 August 2008. Plus, enjoy open access to the gigantic Chinese Locomotive from 2 May onwards, children’s events throughout the summer holidays and a special exhibition on our website from August onwards.
