Why not use our downloadable resources to help your group explore the museum?
They all cover principal exhibits in both main halls, and are designed to get the children looking carefully and making their own observations - no intensive reading of labels required!
The collections and displays within the museum change over time to reflect different themes and to embrace the acquisition or loan of exhibits. This means that occasionally some of the activities mentioned in the activity sheets are not applicable and therefore to avoid disappointment we advise teachers to check any resources that they wish to use during their preliminary visit.
Groups will find out a mixture of key facts and quirky details, any of which may be used as a basis for further research or classroom work. Alternatively, they provide an enjoyable half-hour tour of the museum which encourages children to focus on, and find out more about the objects before their eyes.
It’s easy, print the resources out at home and bring them to the museum to use (keep it green though, please print and photocopy onto both sides of the paper). We hope to see you soon exploring the museum with these educational and fun resources. What will you discover?
