Opening Times:
Daily 10.00 - 17.30
Open seven days a week except 24-26 Dec.
Search Engine is our library and archive centre. We're open 7 days a week, 10:00 to 17:30 (except 24-26 December). During Railfest (2-10 June), access to archive material will be limited. If you want to see any archive material during that time, let us know in advance so we can have it ready for you when you arrive.
At Search Engine you can:
- Drop in and get help with railway-related questions
- Research railway topics
- Access original materials
- Find a quiet area to study
- Listen to oral history recordings from people working on the railways
- Watch railway films and DVDs
- Visit our exhibition area which features items from our archives and collections
We also offer:
- WiFi access
- Tours of the stores: Tuesday and Friday, 14.45 - 15.30 (term time only)
- Use of a group study room (pre-booking required, please call 01904 686 235)
