Watch engineers at work in our real railway workshop where we maintain and conserve locomotives, carriages and wagons. It's a miniature version of the old railway workshops that would have used to employee thousands of people. For much of our collection our team of craftsmen have to make parts from scratch in order To keep our loco and carriages in tip-top shape.
Track train movements in and out of York Station on the East Coast Main Line using the Museum's brand new signalling display, which shows realtime train information from the York Integrated Electronic Control Centre (IECC).
Catch a glimpse of the trains on the real railway from our special Viewing Balcony.
Whilst the bulk of the work on Flying Scotsman is not taking place in The Works you can still keep up with progress on our Scotsman pages.
