Facilities and access
For travel to the Museum, see our separate How To Get Here page.
Visitors under 14 years old must be accompanied by an adult (over 16).
There is a picnic area in the South Yard and a railway-themed play area beside it.
The NRM Shop - Located inside the museum entrance.
Great Hall Shop - For exclusive souvenirs and unique products drop by our shop in the Great Hall. Located next to the café, our shop has many fantastic Mallard items and museum gifts so now you really can enjoy the experience and buy the t-shirt afterwards.
Lockers are available within the museum at a cost £3, non refundable. These lockers are ideal for storing small bits of luggage while you browse the museum. Locker dimensions are 45cm wide x 45cm deep x 58cm tall. Please note these lockers only take one £2 coin and one £1 coin, although our City Entrance reception nearby will be happy to provide change.
We now also have larger lockers that are 95cm deep, 45cm wide and 100cm tall, ideal for suitcases. These are available at a cost of £4 (non refundable).
Sorry, no dogs allowed except support dogs.
Accessible parking is available outside our City Entrance (nearest the railway station). More details on our How To Get Here page.
Wheelchairs are available free of charge at both entrances and we have wheelchair accessible toilets. We welcome mobility scooters but if you would like to hire one (price: £5/scooter) then we recommend you book in advance by calling 0844 8153 139 to avoid disappointment. Support dogs are welcome. If you require a large print map on arrival, please ask at the admissions desk. Audio guides are currently unavailable.
