More about Summer at the National Railway Museum

This summer holiday, come rain or shine, you can see our intricately-crafted locomotive sand sculpture, designed and built from 20 tonnes of sand by the Sandinyoureye team – who've created many other sand (and ice) sculptures all over the UK and beyond.

The sculpture will remain on display for the full six weeks of the school summer holiday - Friday 31 July to Sunday 5 September.
