‘Kirkby Stephen East – the dream becomes reality’ by Mike Thompson

The Friends of the National Railway Museum (North East Branch) are holding a talk on Saturday November 26, 2011. The talk, which starts at 11.30am, will take place in the Education Room (Collection Building) at Locomotion: The National Railway Museum at Shildon.

The speaker for the meeting is Mike Thompson and the topic is ‘Kirkby Stephen East – the dream becomes reality’. The talk will cover the restoration work at Kirkby Stephen East since purchase in 1997 leading up to, and including, this August’s successful ‘Stainmore 150’ event, which saw passenger trains return to the station after 50 years.
